I don’t know what we are doing but we are still in love

Sometimes the best moments happen without a plan. This photo captures one of those rare, simple joys—an effortless afternoon spent together at Sparkling Point Vineyard in North Fork, Long Island.

It was one of our final North Fork Line trips with friends, a bright and beautiful day surrounded by vineyards, laughter, and sparkling wine. Angel and I finally did what we always talked about: stepping into the vineyard and taking a photo together. No agenda, no overthinking—just a spontaneous, playful moment that felt perfectly us.

Dressed casually against a lush green vineyard backdrop, we balanced on one leg with outstretched poses, laughing through what turned into a sweet, unmistakably affectionate moment. Not a “boyfriend” moment—something deeper. A quiet reminder of who we are now: husbands, friends, and partners, still choosing joy in the small things.

Sparkling Point felt like the right place for it. Great friends, crisp sparkling wine, a little caviar, and that unmistakable North Fork calm that slows everything down. Days like this don’t need structure—they just need presence.

Our philosophy is simple: love deeply, laugh often, and sip slowly. We’ll keep chasing these unscripted moments wherever they show up—vineyards included.

Thankful for these great people we meet while living in BK

Brooklyn always has a way of pulling us back into its rhythm. On this trip, that rhythm led us to an easy, familiar night at The William Vale, tucked into their downstairs outdoor patio—cocktails in hand, city buzzing softly around us, and our puppy Dyson right by our side.

We were in town for a work event and finally stayed at a hotel we’ve long admired and hosted events at, but never actually experienced as guests. Being able to slow down and enjoy The William Vale as a home base made the trip feel different—less transactional, more like stepping back into a version of our Brooklyn life.

The night became even better once friends joined. I was sitting with Carmen and Dwayne, two people deeply woven into our everyday history here. Carmen has been Dyson’s long-time dog walker, his best friend, and even brought him to our wedding. Dwayne used to work at the coffee shop across from our old place on North 10th Street—someone we saw nearly every day, until daily hellos turned into real friendship.

After dinner, we regrouped for a casual cocktail, catching up, laughing, and letting the night unfold naturally. No agenda, no rush—just one of those Brooklyn evenings that reminds you why the city sticks with you long after you leave.

Moments like this aren’t about landmarks or hype. They’re about people, shared history, and returning to places that still feel like home. Every time we’re back, Brooklyn gives us exactly what it’s best at: connection, familiarity, and just enough surprise to keep us coming back.

He looks out on the morning mist

He looks out on the morning mist.

From the balcony, the river is a sheet of quiet glass, holding the pale sky the way a house holds a familiar smell—something you don’t notice until it’s gone. Across the water, the hills sit in a single long exhale, their edges softened by fog that refuses to hurry.

He stands at the railing and watches as if the view is speaking in a language older than commands. No barking, no spinning in place. Just that forward-tilted attention, the kind that makes the rest of the morning feel like it should lower its voice.

Down below: a curve of path, a bench waiting out the season, stones stacked along the shore like punctuation. Out there: the Hudson, slow and wide, carrying the day in without ceremony. Even the distant boat looks like a thought you almost remember.

The mist makes everything honest by making it unsure. It blurs the line between what’s happening and what you’re imagining, and somehow that’s comforting. You don’t have to name the feeling. You just have to stand near it.

Dog Overlooking Misty River: a small moment, held still long enough to feel like a place you can return to.

Everything the light touches…

The caption says, “Everything the light touches…,” and it’s hard not to believe it when the morning hits the floor in clean, angled stripes.

By the window, the room feels quiet in that settled way—like it has already decided what kind of day it will be. A small dog lies stretched on a dark, plush bed, paws folded around a worn toy, ears lifted as if listening to the house breathe. The sunlight doesn’t just brighten the space; it softens it, turning ordinary corners into something almost familiar, almost remembered.

There’s a table nearby with a patterned runner and a book left open, as if someone paused mid-thought and stepped away. The rug holds the light in pale patches, and the rest of the room stays gentle and still.

I like moments like this because they don’t ask for much. They’re not grand. They’re just proof that warmth can land wherever it wants—on a rug, on a tabletop, on a dog who has claimed a bed as if it’s always been theirs.

Everything the light touches becomes its own small world for a while, and if you stand there long enough, you can feel the day widen.

Sunday second brunch at The Richardson

| #boyfriendswhobrunch #brooklyn #brunch #richardson | ???

| Finally, I had the time and was in the right location to try the Richardson (@therichardsonnyc). I have to say the cocktails were pretty great and the sandwiches were better then I expected for bar food. The Richardson is your classic cocktail bar with a slight pub feel. They serve many drinks and have a larger selection of whiskey & bourbon; I had a vesper.

The layout of the bar is great to sit and people watch and the patio a a decent size. You can normally find a seat either inside or outside if you get there a bit early, but even at a peek time there is not much of a wait.

Manhattan Bridge Boy

| #manhattan #bridge #nyc

With such tepid weather it was the perfect day to go for a walk. I decided to walk the Manhattan bridge along side a wonderful guy from Japan, Junior. I want to throw in a “pro-tip” for everyone. If you walk the bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan you will have a great photo op of the Brooklyn bridge. Once you are over the bridge you can stop in and visit the largest Buda in NYC.

Snowed in Saturday & Winter Wonderland Walk

| #blizzard #snow #lovely | ❄️??
| I wake to a quiet and snowy morning, grind some beans, and make myself coffee. Snow has clung to my summer window screens, making it appear that it has accumulated up to the first floor of the apartment building. After washing some dishes and taking a shower the rest of the building starts to stir. At the front of the building my landlord bickers with a kid from the block about the height of the snow and where best to measure it. They haphazardly plan the best approach to clear the length of sidewalk and barter the cost to shovel the snow.

$20 for a path, $45 to clear it all – it’s the same for every house

[image_frame url=”7388″ action=”open-lightbox” rel=”snow”]They spot a snow drift on the roof, its reaching off into the sidewalk, they compare it to Mount Everest or a Snow Sculpture of a bird. They worry if it will fall and hurt someone, admittedly it has me curious. I cannot decide if it is funny or sad, the futile effort or the lack of actual effort they have in shoveling snow so early. After a while it is quiet again, then a guitar slowly plays a rambling melody downstairs.[image_frame url=”7380″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”Snow on my bedroom window” rel=”snow”][image_frame url=”7379″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”Neighborhood Kid Shoveling” rel=”snow”]I decide to venture out and layer up to a snowy wonderland. The snow drift on the roof is microscopic compared to the rest of the neighborhood. The hilarity of it all, my building’s sidewalks are some of the best.

A man with a snow blower, cross-country skiing, sounds of tires spinning to nowhere; are a wintery mix of sound and white light. Like two ships in the night, my friend Mikey and I pass each other in the park , never knowing until we are both too far away to meet.[image_frame url=”7384″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”Snowy track of McCarren Park” rel=”snow”][image_frame url=”7386″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”McCarren Park Building 1″ rel=”snow”][image_frame url=”7387″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”McCarren Park Building 2″ rel=”snow”]I arrive home, snow crystalized over my M-65 field jacket and creating a cuff on the bottom of my jeans. As I walk into my apartment the snow quickly begins to melt and I can almost hear that small crackling of ice melting on my hat. It’s time for something warm, a cozy blanket and some brainless internet entertainment. The light is pale and blue in my living room, the wind is howling, and the city appears calm, if only for today.[image_frame url=”7395″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”m65 jacket snow melting” rel=”snow”][image_frame url=”7398″ action=”open-lightbox” image_caption=”the back yard snow” rel=”snow”]| Read Insta-comments -> http://bt.zamartz.com/1WDZzY7
