Cosmopolitan Cocktail Recipe

This classic Cosmopolitan cocktail recipe is a vibrant and zesty drink perfect for any celebration or casual gathering. With a balance of tangy cranberry juice, zesty lime, and a hint of sweetness, this pink-hued cocktail is as delightful to drink as it is to look at.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (45 ml) vodka (e.g., be basic with Skyy)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) triple sec (e.g., Cointreau)
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) cranberry juice (use less if organic – trust me)
  • Lemon twist (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill Your Glass – Place a martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill.
  2. Combine Ingredients – In a cocktail glass filled with ice, add vodka, triple sec, lime juice, and cranberry juice.
  3. Stir – No one wants a watered down drink – stir until the glass starts to frost
  4. Strain – Discard the ice or water in your martini glass, and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
  5. Garnish – Add along lemon twist for a finishing touch.
  6. Serve – Enjoy your perfectly crafted Cosmopolitan cocktail immediately!

A perfect day for a Perfect Manhattan

???

Although the holidays are right around the corner, I got the celebration started early by channeling my inner mixologist. Some of my favorite cocktails are Dirty Martinis, Vespers, and Piña Coladas, but I love Perfect Manhattans most of all!

Here’s the recipe for a Martz-style Perfect Manhattan:

I sipped my Perfect Manhattan out of a Vintage Remix Lab Nick and Nora glass. From the drink to my glass to the holiday decor in my home…everything was just perfect!

Recepie

How i make my “Perfect” Manhattan. The difference between a “Manhattan” and it’s perfect counter part has to do with the ingredients and the garnish. Instead of cocktail cherries as garnish you replace with a lemon twist, and I like to use Rye when making my cocktail.

Ingredients

  1. 3 Oz. of Rye Whiskey
  2. 1.5 Oz. Sweet Vermouth
  3. 3 splashes Aromatic Bitters
  4. 1 lemon
  5. ice

Mixing

  1. Add 2/3 ice to a cocktail mixing cup.
  2. Add Rye Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth and Aromatic Bitters.
  3. Stir to mix for 1 minute being careful not to chip the ice.
  4. Strain mixture into your favorite cocktail glass.
  5. Cut a thick twist off of a lemon with a vegetable peeler, lightly warm lemon with match, and squeeze peel over glass.
  6. Run lemon over rim of glass and slip into drink to garnish.

Sunday second brunch at The Richardson

| Finally, I had the time and was in the right location to try the Richardson (@therichardsonnyc). I have to say the cocktails were pretty great and the sandwiches were better then I expected for bar food. The Richardson is your classic cocktail bar with a slight pub feel. They serve many drinks and have a larger selection of whiskey & bourbon; I had a vesper.

The layout of the bar is great to sit and people watch and the patio a a decent size. You can normally find a seat either inside or outside if you get there a bit early, but even at a peek time there is not much of a wait.

Loving Lucky Luna

| I am having serious doubts about sharing this restaurant and subsequent post. Lucky Luna is one of those neighborhood gems that you may regret telling people about if word spreads about its likable qualities and as a result it becomes too popular to get a seat.

TGIF & a Sweet Rob Roy Cocktail

| #tgif #robroy #manhattan #scotch
| So I decided to play around with the left over liquor in my bar and ended up making a drink called the Rob Roy. I was happy to find out that the scotch still held its woody scent but became mild with the vermouth. I’m always a sucker for lemon with whiskey so this was a nice option to mix it up over my normal Manhattan.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots Scotch
  • 1 shot sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 drops lemon juice
  • 1 lemon peal

Directions

  1. Mix liquor into a shaker or bar glass and stir with ice
  2. Add to Martini or Low Ball Glass
  3. Garnish with Lemon peal

What’s in a Name?

According to Wikipedia there is a story to this drink with two first names.

The Rob Roy is a cocktail created in 1894 by a bartender at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, New York City. The drink was named in honor of the premiere of Rob Roy, an operetta by composer Reginald De Koven and lyricist Harry B. Smith loosely based upon Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor. (source)

|Ending the week with a Watermelon Margarita at Rosie’s. National Watermelon day was this week and after surprising my coworkers with Yellow Watermelon I decided to end the week with sometime more traditional.

The food at Rosie’s was good, the atmosphere was cute, the patio was great, and the margarita was amazing. Overall the perfect Sunday Brunch day with Rolando!

Fueling Your Mission: The Vesper Martini

Invented by Ian Fleming himself, the Vesper is a potent mix of gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc, shaken to icy perfection. Grab your cocktail shaker and follow these steps:

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. gin (Beefeater is my preference)
  • 1 oz. vodka (Skyy is my preference)
  • ½ oz. Lillet Blanc
  • Lemon peel, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Run water over martini glass and place into freezer.
  2. Combine Liquors into cocktail shaker with a generous amount of ice & shake. (you can also stir)
  3. Remove martini glass from freezer and pour in the liquid.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist
  5. Enjoy Mr. Bond

Bonus Round:

Pair your Vesper with themed snacks like caviar on blinis, smoked salmon rolls, or roasted nuts for a touch of elegance. Don’t forget the martini olives, shaken not stirred (of course!).

So, settle in with your blanket, Bond playlist, and Vesper Martini in hand. Let the snow fall and prepare to be shaken (not stirred) by these classic 007 adventures. Just remember, with great cocktails comes great responsibility – drink responsibly!
