Renowned Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane delivers a stellar collection under his eponymous imprint for 2014 spring/summer. Culling inspirations from graphic elements like the human body, 3D interpretations and grid-inspired designs, the spring/summer collection sees classic staples like the button-up, blazer, pleated shorts and tapered trousers re-imagined with bold designs. Elsewhere, loose, casual outfits offer more complacent options, as hoodies, pullovers and scarfs cater for the leisurely. Employing bright hues in juxtaposition to the otherwise plain silhouettes, Kane adds his own tech-driven aesthetics to the forthcoming season, nodding at futuristic motifs — a stark contrast to the retro sensibilities of other contemporary high fashion designers.

As Williamsburg starts bringing in more menswear stores, as slow as ever, there are some highlights. Case and point H.W. Carter & Sons – 127 North 6th in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

A quick stop between Dinner at the Wythe Hotel and then to see Goro Miyazaki’s film “From up on poppy hill” (Kokurikozaka Kara) at Williamsburg cinemas I happend upon these great shades from Mosley Tribes. Overall a great weekend – plus I took my new shades out for a spin around SOHO today!

Junya Watanabe embraces the upcoming spring and summer seasons with this range of smart casual get-ups for his 2013 spring/summer COMME des GARCONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN collection. Cropped and short pants are the order of the day, being paired with both single and double breasted jackets. A light and pleasing range of colors have been chosen whilst a selection of striped, checked and floral designs have been used to subtle but great effect. The ever-present collaboration pieces from Levi’s and Tricker’s are also highlighted, with a denim jacket and a range of boots presented.
