DESIGNATHON:
24-hour event where teams of volunteer Communication Design students along with professors and alumni, design and produce pro-bono creative works for non-profits.

To commemorate the life and continue the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. & Coretta Scott King, by developing a memorial, programs and initiatives to honor the King Family and address issues of civil rights, world peace and economic equity for all.

DESIGN:
Simple flat layout design with shallow color pallet and hover-color black & white imagery. 
• 100% Responsive design – Breakpoints at 900/600/300 widths
• CSS3 compound stylesheet structure 
• Lightweight CMS (Pagelime) editng classes.
• Addaptive jQuery paragraph centering code
• Interactive Google Maps of live site
• Email Subscription and Domation forms

FALL STARTS

For as long as I can remember my parents and I have been placing seasonal decorations in our front garden. It’s been scaled down since the “kids are grown up” but they still give it a go! ^_^

My Parents front Garden

So my parent’s home improvement projects continue by re landscaping the front flower garden. They aren’t finished yet but they already have built a raised box around the cheery tree, added some new flower pots and added a ceramic alligator and loch ness monster.

Gift Cards for Charities:
“Currently we are working to establish an orphanage at Lanet-Nakaru to cater for the needs of vulnerable children. The orphanage will be set within a school complex to give the orphaned children a chance to study in our primary school. This orphanage will serve the needs of the people without discrimination regardless their geographical boundaries, religious background, belief, and ethnicity group.”

Our client requested that we use some traditional african elements, warm colors, images of the children the charity has helped, and easy to understand donation options.

We also discussed future expansion of the site with the client and decided to leave options for a more expansive navigation and additional supporting comment at the bottom of each page.

My parents have been on a huge renovation kick at my childhood home. I’m pretty proud because all of the improvements have been eco-friendly and more energy efficient!

As seen above – New heating and hot water system (yellow) and self powered osmosis water purification system. They now have cut their oil heat consumption down to 1/3 and are able to get rid of the bottled water system we had before.
