As Williamsburg starts bringing in more menswear stores, as slow as ever, there are some highlights. Case and point H.W. Carter & Sons – 127 North 6th in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

A quick stop between Dinner at the Wythe Hotel and then to see Goro Miyazaki’s film “From up on poppy hill” (Kokurikozaka Kara) at Williamsburg cinemas I happend upon these great shades from Mosley Tribes. Overall a great weekend – plus I took my new shades out for a spin around SOHO today!

The range features several of the brand’s most revered silhouettes, slightly adjusting them for everyday eyeglass use. Each of the square and circular frames are offered in two sizes, giving wearers the option of having an oversized or more fitted look. In addition to a lighter body than their sunglass counterparts, the pieces in the collection are presented in a combination of crystalline and colored acetate in two distinct colorways: REPERTOIRE BLACK and REPERTOIRE LIGHT HAVANA. Wang Yue, a senior at Dalian Industry University, uses her paintbrush to turn ugly tree holes into lovely views in Shijiazhuang, capital city of Hebei Province.

Wang Yue calls the tree-hole paintings “meitu” which means “beautiful journey.” The paintings on the trees have brightened the city during the dull, grey winter.
