Paint Lounge BK Adventure – “A Walk in the Rain”

| Frederick suggested this exciting little painting adventure and I thought “why not – awesome date night!” Then while he was in China there was a Gilt City deal… so really it was a no brainer! I tried to challenge myself a but and only use the primary colors and white. I think for 2 hours we both left with successful pieces! ~Inspired by the work of Leonid Afremov

I’m in love with this piece and I finally brought it home after months of it being held at Christopher’s studio… lol

Chelsea Gallery Quick Recap – End of April 2013

Among my activities this weekend I also decided to take a look through the Chelsea galleries. Here is a brief selection of work that I feel are worth a second look; or a first “live look” for you when you go to see them!

Will Kurtz – Another Shit Show @ Mike Weiss Gallery

Elliott Hudley – New Works @ Andrea Rosen Gallery

Charles Fréger – Wilder Mann @ Yossi Milo Gallery

Wang Yue – Meitu

Wang Yue – Meitu

iu2:

Wang Yue, a senior at Dalian Industry University, uses her paintbrush to turn ugly tree holes into lovely views in Shijiazhuang, capital city of Hebei Province.

Wang Yue calls the tree-hole paintings “meitu” which means “beautiful journey.” The paintings on the trees have brightened the city during the dull, grey winter.
